Mr Pete`s Burgers in San Clemente

Came here recently, the food was okay. Nothing to brag about. But the restroom was disgusting!! I had to grab an old empty gross plastic jug with a key on a filthy piece of white string,( because of course that was the bathroom key) walk through the back of the restaurant, down a flight of stairs OUTSIDE which is where the bathroom was. It smells like straight urine, and is not a bathroom you would want to even go to alone, as it is down a dark hallway. Gross!

My favorite place to eat at recommend the avocado cheese burger

Well must have came on a bad day! Showed up at 730 pm the hours clearly said they are open till 9pm. They said i can order but it must be to go. They were already in the process of closing. The owner was not there. I feel a little insulted. Great food . but unfortunately lost a customer.

Gray burgers and onion rings. Friendly staff. Very accommodating.

My favorite burger shop in all of Southern California l, good quality of meat and not ever a wait. Pete’s also offers quite a good selection of beverages. They sell churros as well which are pretty great. Next time you’re surfing or just doing whatever people do in San Clemente go check out Pete’s.

Small family looking store that doesn't get enough love they have nice flowers around the tables outside with amazing food with awesome prices definitely worth a try

Me. Pete's is both a restaurant and a diner. The staff is friend most of the time. Service, is often quick to serve you. And if you are eating, in the restaunt, they are willing to bring your order to your table, so no need to hover at the counter unless you want talk with the counter employee.The menu is also varied so you can get french toast, in the morning, a chicken sandwich for lunch, and spicy nachos for your dinner.

Best burger I ate in a long time

Yummy carne asada nachos. Beer and burgers. They have a patio. It's a good greasy spoon.

We took the next exit off 5-S on a whim, looking for something to eat, not knowing what. It's not an exit with brightly lit fast food signs. The town has its own eclectic charm and a variety of restaurants, but nothing hit the spot until we see, Drive-thru, it was Mr. Pete's, Burgers, Burritos and Breakfast ( I don't know what order). The drive thru doesn't offer anytime for a first-timer to view the large menu so we hastily order a basic burger one with 1000-island sauce, one without. It took awhile, but the burgers were large and tasted good! Hit the spot, a beach drive on a summer night with a burger and drink.

No nonsense good food. Nothing fancy but has been there forever and friendly service.

Good food but building needs a good cleaning inside and out.

So bad. Basically the burger you get from a mini golf place. So dissapointed. The pastrami wasn't cooked long enough so it came out luke warm and chewy, which made it hard to eat. The fries had ZERO salt. Not a spec. The curly fries was the only redeeming factor. We actually ended up throwing away half of it....

Pete's is awesome. Great old fashion pastrami with just the right amount of pickles.

I had gone to Mr. Pete's for years and enjoyed every visit. My last visit my favorite pastrami sandwich was horrible. Instead of thinly sliced perfectly cooked juicy meat on rye bread with mustard and Swiss, I got thick sliced meat no Swiss dry sandwich on a roll. I never will have it again. Not sure if I will go back.

The service is fast and friendly. The food is cooked fresh and comes out hot. There breakfast burrito and breakfast tacos are really good. I love there hot salsa!!

Good price good sized food and their deap fried zucchini is awesome. Everything was fresh and veggies we're crunchy fresh.

1st. time here. loved it. had a grilled ham & cheese. plenty of ham and grilled perfectly. fries were just a little bit crispy, exactly the way I like. wife had pastrami sandwich. she has been trying to find a good one since we arrived. this is the place. called her dad. he and my mother in law both loved them when we got to the house. GOOD JOB MR PETE.

Good place for a quick bite to Eat through the drive thru

I absolutely love this place! I travel frequently from San Diego to LA. I’m going to make it a point to stop here every time I pass. Some young kid named Vincent was so kind and made sure my order was correct before I left the drive through. Zucchini’s were nice and hot and the burger hit the spot.

Stopped by when passing through town. Excellent burgers, good portion of fries and amazing ranch (they dont charge for it either). They were outta milk for the milkshakes on a slow Saturday afternoon which was kinda irritating but otherwise awesome experience.

I Love this place! I stopped by this morning and had a great conversation with the owner. The service and food were both excelent and the small fries and turkey burger with bacon... yumm! Thank you so so much! I shall return in the future 😊

I'm kind of glad that Biggies Burgers down the street ignored me because this place has an excellent burger! Not your typical burger for sure. Definitely recommend this place if you're passing through like me.

Good hamburger and pastrami sandwich and freedom fried. It's a halfway point between San Diego and Long Beach if you are on a bicycle.

Yummy 99 cent breakfast tacos!! Just had breakfast but bfast tacos and burritos and egg sandwiches were yummy and good pricing. Coffee not so great but the salsa was excellent!

Good old school burgers Triton burger a hit also the last if the only place to have a breakfast under $6. That's rare these days

Great food. We used to live in San Clemente, now we live in Switzerland, and we eat at Mr. Pete's every time we come back.

First time to try and we did drive-thru. Had 3 quarter-pound cheeseburger, 1 avocado cheeseburger, and 1 chili fries. I must say it is ok when it comes to the taste. It took a little while before we received our order but it is ok. Thank you for your service.

If you're planning on going to Denny's or bravo burgers.... Think twice because this food is ten times better and ten times less expensive

I used to come here decades ago. Still pretty good. The only place to get fried zucchini that I know. Burgers are fine.

Wow, what a surprise! Crispy fries, an amazing glass of iced tea, and a tasty chicken club. It's one of those places you immediately want to go back to the next day.

The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, staff members gives awesome customer service. I liked how clean it is and ambience. Highly recommended.

I love the pastrami burger zucchini fries are a must and staff is local courteous and fun

One gentleman that works here is particularly pleasant. Needs to weed out some of his help that doesn't care. Consistently minor issues with orders unless he's there.

We were there a year ago when we were in town. Gave it a great review because it was true. Not today. Ordered 3 pastrami sandwiches to go and a grilled ham and cheese. Ham and cheese was very greasy. Way to much butter. My wife and in-laws thought the pastrami sandwiches were greasy and mostly fat and not cooked thoroughly. Last time was a home run. Two and a half strikes this time.

Great prices good food But need to add bacon 🥓 as a protein choice on your all American breakfast take-out order form .

Have enjoyed the Mr. Pete Burger for over 35 years. When paired with their hand made zucchini fries, it is the best. We don't live in the area any longer but when we are in San Clemente, we always visit.

Great burgers. Fries are good and beer is cold!

Went thru the drive-through. Very disappointed in my BLT. Bread was barely warm but not toasted, minimal amount of bacon, dry as a desert because no mayo not even asked if I wanted mayo.
